Mountains, Movies and the Hero’s Journey
We are all on a hero’s journey!
Each one of us truly desires to be the hero in our own journey. Most people don’t understand it, and some do. What glibly makes me project such a supercilious opinion about the ‘most people?’ Because understanding the principles of that journey make every mountain, hill or speed bump in the road of life, easier to climb and overcome.
Less complicated, simpler!
Knowledge simply doesn’t apply itself!
We admit knowingly, the largest challenge we will ever face – is our mind.
Listening to my guide and mentor, Luc – a proud moment I may add – regale us with his mountain climbing story, in his wonderful romantic French accent, using it as a metaphor for our Master Key journey, was incredible.
And then I watched the first movie of our movie list for the holidays – October Sky. Movies are my periodic escape. I don’t do TV. But cleverly written or true stories, engage me in thinking and touching my soul! Don’t fret, I won’t tell you about the movie. It’s safe to read on…
Except to say that – a burning desire to succeed is a key to overcoming challenges. And it becomes even easier when we have colleagues who mastermind that success with us. And then not allowing anyone to hold us back from our desired dreams.
Every challenge we face is akin to climbing a mountain. Some challenges are prodigious mountains, others hills, and then there are little speed bumps in the road. And then some are just the proverbial molehill!
How we overcome them is based in our subconscious mind beliefs.
* Do we quit easily?
* At what point do we believe we should quit?
* What action steps can we take to overcome our challenges?
* How deep is our burning desire?
* What vision do we have for our passion, purpose and chief aims in life?
* Are we using the natural laws of the mind effectively?
* How strong is our positive mental attitude?
* Are we part of master minding our plans?
* What does it take to be the hero in our journey?
* What do we do to avoid pain and find pleasure?
* Have we elected to forego our old mind blueprint thinking?
Earl Shoaff relates in his audio clip – How to become a Millionaire, that we all know and believe the basic laws of gravity. It is an irrefutable law. We don’t know how it works, but we know it works for everybody.
If a man decides to jump off a 20 story building he knows that he will fall to the concrete ground and die. It doesn’t matter even if he is a saint. He will be a dead saint. Gravity is a law of science. And a law of nature.
The question is why do we not know and understand the natural laws of success? They are laws of nature too. And the quicker we get to understand these basic laws, the easier it becomes for us to do life!
In Luc’s story, I saw how this applies to all of us in life. Prodigious!
Luc always wanted to be a mountain climber and because of doing life on life’s terms, didn’t get to achieve his dream, until one day years later he did. He obviously had a clear burning vision of his desire.
With his guide and mentor, he climbed the mountain and got to a point where it was so foggy he couldn’t see his guide. Fear must have set in. Could he go back? No. Could he quit? No. If he did, he probably would have ended up not being here today. So he had to continue, one step at a time, until he reached his guide and then they continued together, one step at a time. He achieved his dream!
This is our life. Some of us quit when we reach a point of what we think is no return. And what we think is no return is based on limited belief systems we have created over time. Quitting is failure. A refusal of the call to action in our hero’s journey. Step by step is the key to moving forward.
Are we persistent enough to succeed? Can we truly say – I persist until I succeed?
I persist. I succeed. Because I know that my mastermind alliances will keep me going. Friends who have a vested interest in my future, as I do theirs. We are in service to each other, for each other.
You will see this in the movie. You will see this in Luc’s story. You will see this in your own life.
Are you the hero in your journey?
I persist, I succeed. I don’t care how high the mountain is. I don’t care about falling off. I don’t care about any challenges. I kick the mountain over. Step by step, I am my own hero!
I persist until I succeed!
In gratitude, respect and in love!
